About ATON-HT

The ATON-HT Joint Stock company has been on the market since August 2005. The company operates in the area of innovative technology for hazardous waste disposal and recovery of valuable materials.  The developed and implemented technology is based on the original MTT method (Microwave Thermal Treatment), it is owned and reserved in Poland and abroad (application No. P-377957). Based on the MTT technology, a research installation has been developed to conduct studies on asbestos disposal.
The proposed solution will make it possible to build reactors used to neutralize a wide range of hazardous waste in very high temperatures; the functioning of the equipment does not pose any threat to the environment and, what's equally important, the cost of operation is lower than that of well known equipment and installations.

Based on the conducted research, it can be concluded that the microwave method may fill the technological gap. The important  advantage is the possibility to neutralize asbestos waste contaminated with toxic substances (used up transformer oils containing PCB, paints, varnishes, certain insulation substances etc.) storage of which, allowed for typical asbestos waste, is not permitted.

OPINIONS

The effectiveness of the MTT method within the scope of asbestos disposal has been assessed by two independent centers (reference centers) authorized to determine and identify asbestos types.

Professor J. Nofer Institute of Occupational Health -  Department of Environmental Health Hazards, in their report (ZSA/102/2005) from 20.12.2005, regarding the „Evaluation of the effectiveness of the MTT method (Microwave Thermal Treatment) in asbestos neutralization”, concluded that in provided test sample containing chrysolite asbestos (approx. 15%) and ammosite from the amphibole group (approx. 3%), no presence of any asbestos type was detected after MTT method was used.

The Institute of Building Research – Department of Environment Protection, in its report No.NS- 581/P/05 regarding the „Study for the presence of asbestos  in asbestos-contaminated waste after the use of the Microwave Thermal Treatment (MTT) technology”, stated that waste comminuted with flux  and containing chrysolite asbestos, after the use of the MTT method, no longer contained it.

Additionally, positive opinions about the MTT (Microwave Thermal Treatment) method and its use in utilizing materials that contained asbestos were also submitted by:

  • Institute of Chemistry and Coal and Petroleum Technology – Wroclaw University of Technology
  • Material Recycling Excellence Center
  • Institute of Environmental Engineering – Wroclaw University of Technology
  • Center for Technical Progress - Wroclaw Council of the Federation of Engineering Associations NOT
